The Kone V3F16ES was introduced in 1996. It was the first VVVF frequency inverter for machine room-less elevators (MRL) and was later replaced by its successor, the V3F16L.
The Kone Monospace® offered many advantages for architects and building planners, as the use of the V3F16ES meant that machine room-less elevators could be built for the first time. In addition, the energy savings made this solution very attractive, especially for buildings with over 20 floors.
